Application Process
Vending On Public Property
The Town of Telluride accepts applications for a limited number of vending sites on public property. The application fee is $40. Sites are approved and assigned at the discretion of the Vending Subcommittee.
The Telluride Vending Code has more detailed information on vending in the Town of Telluride. A Vending Permit Application(PDF)is required for all vendors. Please see the application for a more in-depth overview of the regulations and requirements. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Summer Vending Season
- Applications are due by March 15.
- Late applications may be considered at the discretion of the Vending Subcommittee by written request from the Applicant including an explanation for the late filing and with a $40.00 late application fee.
- The summer vending season is May 15 through October 14.
Fees
- The application fee is $40
- Vending Permit for the season is $500
North Spruce Street Market
- Vending of fruits and vegetables on the mall
- Summer Season-only
- Fees: Vending Permit for the season is $200
Winter Vending Season
- Applications are due by August 15.
- Late applications may be considered at the discretion of the Vending Subcommittee by written request from the Applicant including an explanation for the late filing, and with a $40.00 late application fee.
- The winter vending season is October 15 through May 14.

Vending on Public Sites
Vendors on public property will be approved and assigned at the discretion of the Vending Subcommittee based on selection criteria as stated in Telluride Municipal Code Section 6-4-40.
- Vending permits are nontransferable
- Other licenses are required i.e. business licenses, sales tax, etc.
- The use of gas generators is not allowed
- There are nine designated public vending areas, awarded by competitive application
- Apparatus and site size is limited. Carts must be no larger than 5' x 3'.
- Display apparatus is to be removed from the public property at the end of each working day
- Tents are not allowed
Vending on Private Property
- Only in designated areas and by permit
- A ten-day public notice is required
- There is short term (festival) and long term vending allowed
- Long term vending on private property is allowed in the Commercial Zone District as depicted on the Long Term Private Property Vending Map
- Short term vending on private property is allowed no earlier than the Thursday preceding a major festival event and ends the Monday following a major festival event
- Owner permission is required
- Application to Town required
- Other licenses are required i.e. business licenses, sales tax, etc.
- The use of gas generators is not allowed
- Vending permits are nontransferable
