1. When can I make a reservation for the campground?

NEW! We have configured our camping software to optimize our campsites by site type to maximize our occupancy and reduce the need to piece meal together a reservation. 

4. NEW! What are the Camping Terms and Conditions?

NEW! The Terms and Conditions (camping rules and regulations) MUST be reviewed and agreed to prior to on-site check-in with the Campground Attendant). You can access the Terms and Conditions from your reservation details link.

5. NEW! Messaging!

Our new software will auto generate 3 messages/reminders to all campers:

1.   You will receive a reservation confirmation upon completion of booking with a link to your Reservation Details. 
      (Please note that you must sign the Terms and Conditions prior to on-site check-in with the campground attendant).
2. Two (2) days prior to your scheduled reservation arrival day, you will receive a Pre-Arrival email message with a link to your reservation details. Your campsite will be locked in at this time.
3. 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival, you will receive your Online Check-in email message; it is during this step that you will provide the names of the arriving campers and all vehicle information.

7. Are Group Bookings Permitted?

A Group Booking is defined as multiple bookings made by the same individual for the same nights for multiple campsites.

Due to the incredibly high demand; Group Bookings are NOT permitted. 

8. What is the maximum number of nights I can stay in the campground?

An individual camper can stay a maximum of 7 nights in a 30 day period of time and new this year a maximum of 14 days for the entire season.

9. How many people can camp on my site?

A maximum of 6 people at a vehicle campsite (Premium and Standard) and 4 people at a primitive walk-in campsite are permitted. Limiting the amount of usage on a site helps prevent erosion of the campsite. If you have more than the maximum number of people allowed, another site will need to be booked if available.

10. Can I have guests at my campsite?

Campers are allowed to have guests. All guest vehicles must be parked outside of the campground in an authorized parking area. Guests are permitted during the day until 9:00 pm, but only a maximum number of 6 people in the vehicle campsites and 4 people in the primitive sites are allowed at night/overnight.

11. Can I make a payment over the phone?

All reservations must be made online. No payments are accepted over the phone or in-person.

12. Do children count toward capacity count?

Yes, children are counted toward the total capacity of each campsite.

13. How many vehicles are permitted per vehicle site?

• Two (2) licensed vehicles on the ground (or 4 motorcycles maximum) are permitted on the Premium and Standard campsites. 
• Only one RV is permitted per site based on the site/size limitations. Please note that a Sprinter style van may be considered a Class B RV. 
• Daytime campground visitors must park in the main parking lot of the park or other authorized town parking.

14. Can I have extra vehicles at my campsite?

• Parking is true challenge in the Town of Telluride.  Only authorized camping vehicles are permitted in the campground. Attached is a Parking Map generated by the town Marshal illustrating the limited parking options. 
• Only two license plates are permitted at each vehicle site 
• Only one parking space is available for a standard size vehicle for walk-in tent campers
• Car camping is not permitted in the walk-in tent camping spaces.

15. What if I need to cancel my reservation?

NEW! Cancellation Policy/Refunds:  

• Cancelling 4 or more days prior to first night reserved = lose 25% of first night (must be completed online)
• Cancelling 1-3 days prior to first night reserved = lose 50% of first night (must be completed online)
• Cancelling on your scheduled arrival date, prior to 3:00 PM MT = lose 100% of first night (must be completed via phone or email).  
• Early departures will forfeit night of departure.
• If you do not show up or contact the Parks and recreation Department by check-in time of 3:00 pm MT on your second night reserved = lose 100% of all nights remaining

16. What if I can't use my reservation?

Please refer to our cancellation policy and note that reservations cannot be resold. 

17. What if I do not show up?

19. What time is Check-In?

On-site arrivals are from 3:00 pm MT through 9:00 pm MT on-site with the campground attendant. 

A required online pre check-in is available up to 24 hours prior to arriving on-site to provide all arriving camper and vehicle information. This is required prior to on-site check-in with the campground attendant in addition to the Terms and Conditions. 

NO EARLY CHECK-IN'S. NO EXCEPTIONS!

20. Can I unhitch my vehicle from my RV so we can use the car to go exploring?

No, street parking is your best option for a longer combined length rig. Across the street from the town park entrance along the river facing west is the closest option. If you drive past the town park entrance to the other side of the east end community use that bus turnaround and come back into any available spaces.

21. What time is Check-Out?

Check-out time is by 2:00 pm MT on your scheduled departure date.  Please be courteous of our campground attendant as there is much to do anticipating the arriving campers who may be weary and anxious to get set up.

22. Can you look up my friend's reservation or tell which site they are in?

If you need a site in a certain area or need to be in sites next to your party, please obtain that information from them directly. The Parks and Recreation Department is unable to provide reservation information to anyone but the person who made the reservation. This includes spouses and other family members.

23. NEW! Can I add campers or vehicles to my reservations?

• 24 hours prior arrival date, you will receive an email to check-in online. It is during this check-in that you will provide the names of all arriving campers and vehicle information. 
• All camper information must be received prior to checking in on-site with the campground attendant. 
• NEW! Once on-site check-in has occurred, no changes can be made to the reservation. Please plan accordingly.

24. What are quiet hours in the Town Park Campground?

Quiet hours at the campground are from 10:00 pm until 8:00 am daily. Please be courteous of your camping neighbors.

25. NEW! Are generators permitted?

Low decibel (non-diesel) generators are ONLY permitted between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please plan accordingly.

26. Are campfires permitted at the campground?

No wood burning is ever permitted in the Town of Telluride. 

Failure to comply with this ordinance may result in camping privilege's being revoked.

Charcoal grills are provided at each of the vehicle sites (Standard and Premium) for charcoal only.

27. Does the Town Park Campground have hook-ups?

No, the campground does not have electric hook-ups, water, or sewer. 

There are bathroom and shower facilities available on-site and potable water is accessible for campers staying in the Town Park Campground.  Low decibel (non-diesel) generators are permitted between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm daily. NO EXCEPTIONS!

28. Where can I top off my RV water tank?

• There is a water spigot in the campground behind the restrooms that is available to registered campers only.

29. Does my campground fee cover access to town park amenities?

No, your campground fee only covers your overnight reservation at your campsite.

30. Is internet available at the campground?

Guest WiFi is available at the campground. No password is required.

Please note: During festivals it can be limited.

31. NEW! Are there showers at the campground?

NEW! Restroom/Shower Facility - all-in-one facility on-site includes restrooms, showers, dishwashing station, trash and recycling. 

• NEW! Each token is valued at $1.00 which equates to 90 seconds of hot water. 
• The token machines are bill to token (no quarters please!). Please note that the machine will dispense the amount in tokens that you insert bills for and the office is not set up to refund for tokens.

32. Is the Telluride Town Park Campground dog friendly?

Yes, dogs are welcome in the Town Park Campground during our normal campground operations. We ask that dogs be kept on leashes while in the Campground and not left unattended. Please no livestock in the Campground.

The Town of Telluride does not have a dog park.

33. Can I bring my horse to the campground?

No. Livestock is not permitted in the Town of Telluride campground.

34. How far is the Town of Telluride from the campground?

The campground is located on the east end of the Town of Telluride only a couple of blocks from the edge of the commercial district. The Galloping Goose is a town loop free shuttle bus that will pick up just outside the main entrance to the Town Park. 

35. Where can I get town information or trail maps?

Your Campground Attendant or the P&R staff at the Town Park Info Center will be a good sources for local information and trail maps.

36. What are best bear awareness camping practices?

• Please visit the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website for detailed information on living with bears. There are bear boxes available in close proximity to all campsites. 
• Please do not leave anything odiferous out at your campsite, as it will not only attract bears, but other wildlife such as ravens and ground squirrels who can make a mess at your site.

37. Can I camp in my car in the Town of Telluride?

It is unlawful for any person to camp or sleep overnight in or on any Town-owned park, open space or other public property, or remain within or on such lands beyond the hours of authorized public access or use. Town Ordinance (7-2-40 & 10-4-60), fines may apply. Camping on private property would be permissible after obtaining permission from the property owners.

38. Is there another campground located in Telluride?

No, there are no other campgrounds or RV parks located within the Town of Telluride. Please see our main campground page for links and information on other camping outside of Telluride.
