Adult Summer Activities

Telluride Parks & Recreation offers a variety of year-round adult recreational sports programming and league play. With longer, warmer days, locals and visitors take to the parks to enjoy the fine weather and good company. Parks & Recreation is please to offer Adult Recreational programming throughout the summer, kicking off the season with Women's and Men's Softball (Mid-May through July) followed by Co-Ed Soccer (August-September).

Telluride Adult Recreational Softball

Adult Softball has concluded for the 2023 season.  Information regarding the 2024 season will be available in March 2024.

Important Dates:

  • League play will begin the week of May 15 and the playoff tournament will conclude by July 24.
  • The schedules for each league will be published by 5:00 pm on May 10.
  • Pre-Season Manager’s Meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 29 at 6:00 pm in the Town Park Pavilion.

Registration Information:

  • Team Registration

    • Priority registration will begin on Wednesday, March 15 while open registration will begin on Wednesday, April 19. During team registration, the team’s Manager will establish a team name and registration password. The Manager will then share the team password and registration link with their teammates so they may sign up.
      • Priority registration is for returning teams from the 2022 season and will be conducted from March 15 through 12:00 pm on April 19.
      • Open registration for new and returning teams will open at 3:00 pm on April 19.
      • Registration for all teams will close at 5:00 pm on April 26.
  • Free Agents

    • Players who do not have a team to play for may sign up as a Free Agent. Free Agent’s contact information and questionnaire responses (includes league preference, experience level, preferred positions) will be shared with Team Managers so they may contact individuals to fill roster vacancies. Enrolling as a Free Agent does not guarantee the opportunity to play, but serves as a conduit to match players with teams.
    • Individual players may register to play at any point during the regular season, but are required to participate in at least one-third of the season in order to participate in the playoff tournament.

Women's Rec Softball

  • League play will take place primarily on Tuesday, Thursday, and occasionally Sunday evenings at 5:30 and 6:50 pm. Participants should expect to play on a Saturday morning and afternoon in early June.
  • This league is mixed with both competitive and recreational teams. A 10-game regular season is followed by a double elimination playoff tournament.

  • League play will take place primarily on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings at 5:30 and 6:50 pm. Participants should expect to play on a Saturday morning and afternoon in early June.

Important Program Information for All Leagues

  • Program Location: League play takes place in Telluride Town Park. If necessary, a limited number of games will be played at the Down Valley Park.
  • Program Equipment: Softballs, umpire equipment, and field maintenance are all provided and conducted by the Parks & Recreation Department.
  • Personal Equipment: League participants are responsible for providing their own fielding and batting equipment including fielding glove, bats, and other personal equipment. It is highly recommended that participants come prepared to play in a variety of weather conditions which may require cold and wet weather gear. Closed toe shoes are required for participation and metal cleats are prohibited.
