Sunnyside Housing Project- Finalized Lottery Information:
The Town of Telluride is pleased to present the finalized Sunnyside Housing Lottery information. Sunnyside is a net zero, affordable rental housing development. The project is a partnership between the Town of Telluride and San Miguel County. It is located immediately west of Eider Creek, in between Telluride and Lawson Hill in San Miguel County, Colorado.
There are 30 Sunnyside units. These include apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms, as well as three tiny homes. Of the 30 units, four are reserved for housing Town and County employees. Five additional units are set aside for existing Shandoka F Building residents due to the pending reconstruction of the F Building housing structure. A home childcare unit shall be subject to a separate leasing process for qualified childcare-providing applicants. Therefore, the general Sunnyside lottery will be held for 20 units.
The lottery application acceptance period will begin on May 16, 2022. Applications will be accepted until noon on June 21, 2022. The lottery drawing will be held on June 30, 2022 at noon at Rebekah Hall. Successful applicants will be offered an eligible unit in the order of preferences designated on their application.
The Telluride Housing Department will require all adult applicants to demonstrate employment in the R-1 School District equaling or exceeding 1400 hours/year, with an average 27 hours worked per week. Applicants must prove they have met this work requirement in the R-1 School District area for at least 12 months prior to the drawing date of June 30, 2022. Applicants that do not meet the above employment qualification but who are over 65 years of age or who have a disability may also be eligible for the lottery. One pet per unit/household shall be allowed in each Sunnyside unit.
Household income limits, rent schedules, occupancy requirements, site maps, and the Sunnyside Lottery Rules can be found in the Sunnyside Lottery Packet. Applying to the Sunnyside Lottery requires that each household complete one Sunnyside Lottery Packet and every adult in the household submit a Resident Application. Each person will only be allowed to apply and enter the lottery as part of one household.
For more detailed information and to apply, download the Sunnyside Lottery Packet (PDF) / Paquete de Loteria de Sunnyside (PDF) and the Resident Application (PDF) / Solicitud de Residente (PDF). Please note, to apply for Sunnyside, only one Sunnyside Lottery Packet is required per household. However, every adult (18 years+) in the household must complete a Resident Application.
