Application Process

Vending On Public Property


The Town of Telluride accepts applications for a limited number of vending sites on public property. The application fee is $40. The Telluride Vending Code has more detailed information. In all cases, a Vending Permit Application is required. Please see application for a more in-depth overview of the regulations and requirements.

Winter Vending Season


  • Applications due by August 15
  • Application fee is $40
  • Season is October 15 through May 14
  • Vending Permit for season is $250

Summer Vending Season


  • Applications are due by by March 15
  • Application fee is $40
  • Season is May 15 through October 14
  • Vending Permit for the season is $500
North Spruce Street Market
    • Vending of fruits and vegetables on the mall
    • Summer Season only
    • Vending Permit for the season is $200
    • One 8’ pop up tent is permitted
Vendors for public sites are selected by a Vending Committee using: prior vending history in Telluride; diversity of offered food, goods, wares, merchandise or services; the appearance, quality of, safety and attractiveness of the display apparatus.
  • Vending permits are non transferable
  • Other licenses are required i.e. business licenses, sales tax etc.
  • The use of gas generators is not allowed
  • There are 5 designated public vending areas, awarded by competitive application and permit
  • Apparatus and site size is limited
  • Display apparatus is to be removed from public property at the end of each working day
  • Tents are not allowed

Vending on Private Property


  • Only in designated areas and by permit
  • There is short term (festival) and long term vending allowed
  • Owner permission is required
  • Application to Town required
  • Other licenses are required i.e. business licenses, sales tax etc.
  • The use of gas generators is not allowed
  • Vending permits are non transferable
